vision and mission
Current situation
In Romania, some 1 to 3 million dogs live on the streets in search of food and safe shelter. Many dogs are hit and exposed to risks of disease and malnutrition. In 2013, a law was passed allowing street dogs to be killed. Since then, many dogs are killed on the streets or taken by dog catchers to a shelter where living conditions are terrible. The law states that should these dogs not be picked up within 14 days, they may still be killed. In addition, the dogs unfortunately also die from the effects of the appalling conditions. However, killing dogs is not the solution to reducing the population of street dogs! Neutralisation is!
Vision
Every dog deserves a second chance. Dogs are literally taken off the streets to neutralise them and offer them a safe place. Some dogs are scared or sick, but step by step we make progress by giving them love, food, drink, proper medical care and shelter. With me, the animals live in packs, so not in cages or kennels. They get to choose where they sleep. Some like to lie inside at night and some like to stay outside. During the day, most dogs live outside, playing in the swimming pond, running around the yard, playing with the toys or relaxing in the sun or shade! There is always food and fresh drinking water available for them. They live (under supervision) together with cats. There is an oasis of peace, love and trust. Not only dogs, but also materials deserve a second chance. I like to reuse old materials and things. I turn them into a shelter for the dogs or a hiding place. By doing so, I not only try to contribute to recycling and sustainability, I also save a lot of money this way. In this way, I try to develop the shelter bit by bit into a nice, safe place for the dogs.
Mission
My mission is to shelter, care for and feed stray dogs and other animals in need, to mediate adoption and to tackle the problem at source through neutralisation (spaying and neutering), campaigns and education.
